Setting up your Ledger wallet takes less than ten minutes. The onboarding process ensures that your private keys are generated entirely offline inside a certified Secure Element (CC EAL5+) chip, isolating your funds from online phishing, malware, and compromised browsers.
STEP 01
Plug your device into your computer or mobile device using the included USB-C cable. Turn on the hardware unit and follow the physical screen prompts to select a secure 4 to 8 digit PIN code.
STEP 02
Record the 24-word Secret Recovery Phrase on the provided Recovery Sheets. This phrase is the sole backup to your cryptocurrency reserves. Never take a photo or enter it into any software prompt.
STEP 03
Open the official Ledger Live desktop or mobile application. Run the genuine hardware check to confirm device authenticity, update your firmware, and install the blockchain apps for Bitcoin, Ethereum, and more.
Critical Security Notice: Legitimate Ledger software will never ask you to input your 24 words into a computer keyboard, mobile screen, or web form. Only view and verify words on the physical device screen itself.
